Management
Clarion Insurance Company is run by a Board of Directors chaired by Mr. Nimrod Willard Chiminya, who is also a board member of prominent companies in Zimbabwe.
Board and Executive Management
Mr. Chiminya is the current chairman of the Company. He is also the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Landberry Holdings. He sits on various boards including TIMB and National Building Society. Previously he was director at NSSA and former President of Zimbabwe Local Government Association, (ZILGA). He is also the past Chairman of Zvimba Rural District Council.
He is a qualified mechanical engineer from Singapore Technical Institute.
Mainos Mudukuti has over thirty years experience in the Insurance Industry. He is also a shareholder of Clarion Insurance Company. He was the Group Managing Director of IGI Life and IGI Insurance, and prior to that he was the Management Advisor for Lesotho National Insurance Company during the formation of Lesotho Life Assurance.
In 1989 he was the Deputy Division Head of T.A. Holdings – Zimnat Insurance and Zimnat Life, after helping to rebrand the group from Rhonet and ICR respectively. While in England, he was a branch manager for Abbey Life Insurance Company.
He was the president of the Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe (IIZ) and the Chairman of the Life Offices Association (L.O.A) in 1989, positions he held concurrently. His journey in insurance has seen him endowed with diverse local and international experience, thus bringing valuable strategic and management insight to steer Clarion Insurance Company.
Mainos Mudukuti has sat on various boards including University of Zimbabwe, Parks Board for ten years, Netone and Zellco boards as Chairman for three years, Tourism Industry Tarrifs Committee as Chairman for six years. He is also a former councilor for the Harare City Council.
He is currently a board member at the Zimbabwe Cricket.
He holds various qualifications including a Bachelor of Business studies Honours Degree with the University of Zimbabwe, a Certificate in Management Studies (B.E.C) and a Certificate in Insurance (United Kingdom).
Dr. Kaziboni is currently a lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe in the Adult Education Department. She attained a Master of Educational Administration degree from the University of England in 1998 and a Doctorate in 2018. She has held various prominent positions through her career spanning over twenty five years. She holds a Master of Educational Administration (Honours) with the University of Australia.
Mrs. Kaziboni is also the current Chairperson of the Human Resources Committee.
Mrs. Ncube is a Lawyer with more than 20 years experience in leadership, management, local government, corporate governance, legal compliance and public sector policy advice. She has held board positions in various organizations including National Building Society, Medicines Control Council of Zimbabwe and Pensions Advisory Board. She holds a Masters in Business Administration Degree from (ESAMI), Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) and Bachelor of Law (Honours) Degree (BL) both from University of Zimbabwe.
Mr. Moores has extensive knowledge in agriculture spanning over 36 years. He is currently Managing Director of Homestlye Candles and previously was Board Chairman of TG Pipes (Pvt) Ltd and Managing Director at CI Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd. He holds a Higher National Diploma in Agriculture attained at the Royal Agricultural College in the United Kingdom.
He has over twenty five years of experience as a finance person and has worked in diverse sectors of the economy including manufacturing, agriculture and financial services. Mr. Madzima has worked for big institutions such as NOCZIM, Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, Delta Corporation and Accolade Holdings were staff compliments were in excess of 450 people.
Mr. Madzima attained a Bachelor of Accountancy (Hounors) Degree from the University of Zimbabwe and is a fellow member of CIS. He has enrolled with UNISA for a Masters Degree in Business Administration.
Management
Pikitai is a holder of Bachelor of Commerce degree in Insurance and Risk Management from National University of Science and Technology. He has more than fifteen years experience in the insurance industry. He attained a Masters Degree in Risk Management and Insurance with NUST University.
Mr. Mupandawana is responsible for underwriting and risk management at Clarion Insurance Company.
Mrs. Gonye attained her CIMA diploma in 2012 and B Com. in Accounting in 2003. She now has more than 15 years of accounting experience in the services industry. She is currently studying for a Master of Commerce in Strategic Management and Corporate Governance.
Mehlule holds a Diploma in Insurance (IIZ), Diploma in Accountancy, and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Risk Management with UNISA. Mehlule brings to Clarion Insurance a wealth of diverse experience in insurance and risk management spanning over twenty years.
Kennedy is a young ambitious manager already with 5 years marketing experience. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and Management at Curtain University in Malaysia. He has worked for a number of companies including Shearwater before joining Clarion Insurance Company in January 2018.
Munyaradzi holds a National Certificate and Diploma in I.T both obtained from HEXCO. He also attained a BS in Computer Information Systems from Midlands State University. He holds a Masters Degree in Business Management from NUST.
He has over 15 years experience having worked for various companies including Blue Ribbon Foods, Boart Longyear and Lion Matches.
Karen Idaishe Mbedzi obtained a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree, majoring in Organizational Psychology and Industrial Sociology from the University of Cape Town in South Africa and a Certificate of Proficiency from the Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe (IIZ). She holds a Masters Degree in Strategic Planning from Heriot Watt University.
Karen is currently studying for a course in Management Development Program with the University of Cape Town.
